Conventional data centres exist within remote environments, are constructed modularly and function like a type of enigma. However, data centres are what nurture and flourish global societies. They are essentially the foundations to our way of life. Without them, essential aspects that modern society rely upon cease to operate such as global commerce and social media.

Current data centres are inaccessible objects. Within architecture we are encouraged to celebrate progress. Therefore, the process that was undertaken attempts to break the orthogonal, rigid aspects of data centres with the organic process of urban growth. The antagonism between these two processes act as an inscribing process into the form of this reinvented data centre.
